DETROIT, MI – January 3, 2017 – Fontinalis Partners (, a Detroit- and Boston-based venture capital fund focused on next-generation mobility, today announces the promotion of Chris Stallman from Principal to Partner.

“Since we launched Fontinalis Partners in 2009, we have worked to build a portfolio of world-class mobility companies, and Chris Stallman has played a critical role in that effort. On behalf of all the Partners at Fontinalis, I am pleased to recognize him for his exceptional performance and important contributions,” said Bill Ford, Founder & Partner.

Ralph Booth, Founder & Managing Partner, commented, “Chris Stallman joined our team nearly six years ago, over which time the company has achieved many key milestones, including a very productive 2016 that saw the launch of our second fund, several new investments, and multiple successful exits. I look forward to working with him in his expanded role as we continue to grow the Fontinalis platform.”

Fontinalis Partners was founded by Bill Ford, Ralph Booth, Chris Cheever, Chris Thomas, and Mark Schulz in 2009—at the forefront of a major groundswell of activity in mobility that is well evidenced today. In 2011, Chris Stallman joined the team in conjunction with the launch of the firm’s first fund. Since his addition to the team, Chris Stallman has played a key role in the expansion of the firm’s active portfolio to 25 companies, co-led the firm’s fundraising efforts for its second fund (a $100 million fund completed in mid-2016), and is actively involved with many of the firm’s investments through various board positions.

Prior to joining Fontinalis, Chris Stallman spent five years with Stout Risius Ross (SRR) in the Valuation & Financial Opinions group, where he advised clients on transaction, tax, and financial reporting matters while also helping to expand SRR’s financial sponsors practice. Chris earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, where he also worked in the alternative investment group for the University’s $9.7 billion endowment while completing his studies. Additionally, Chris Stallman is a CFA charterholder.
