DETROIT, Michigan & DURHAM, North Carolina – January 25, 2018 – Fontinalis Partners, a venture capital firm investing in leading next-generation mobility companies, today announces the successful sale of its portfolio company, TransLoc, to Ford Smart Mobility.

TransLoc is a Durham, North Carolina-based provider of innovative software products oriented around multi-modal transportation and transit. Amongst the company’s full product suite is an industry-leading product that allows cities to launch and operate their own microtransit fleets. Acquiring TransLoc allows Ford to leverage its operational expertise, network of city relationships, and proven track record of providing solutions to cities globally that can improve the rider experience with dynamic routing. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Fontinalis co-led TransLoc’s single Series A fundraising round in March 2016. Since this investment, Fontinalis has been active on TransLoc’s board, helping the company to expand its customer base and further entrench itself as a thought leader and trusted partner in urban mobility.
